About

This is the part where I talk about myself in third person. I… excuse me, Rachel DeGenaro then boasts her natural born talents and constructs one to three sentences exemplifying why and how acting is her passion [insert cute childhood memory encompassing broken home, sibling rivalry, and ugly duckling principles here]. Then, Rachel uses her wit and charm to expose her childhood acting credits embellishing nostalgic memories of being the lead in every school play. (Seriously, she was, but to be fair she went to a school in East Tennessee, where most people focus on football and not Shakespeare. Plus, Rachel is a bit of an overachiever.) Some of these credits include: Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, Alice in Alice in Wonderland, and Abigail Williams in The Crucible. You get the idea.

At age 18, Rachel moved to New York City and attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she studied Musical Theatre. She did well there and, after graduation, accidentally got a job as a receptionist at a law firm. (Rachel is an unfortunately pathetic waitress.) She simultaneously dabbled in Off-Off Broadway and Off- Broadway Workshops to continue her craft, but five years later she was still working at that same law firm as a paralegal. (Remember that bit early about her being an overachiever?)

Rachel relocated to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue her career full time, and she is seriously serious about it. In only five years, she has booked over a dozen commercials and a handful of network television including Jane the Virgin, Gigi Does It, Jennifer Falls, The New Normal, Days of Our Lives (recurring), Young & the Restless, and How to Rock. She also worked on a handful of indie films sharing the screen with Erika Christensen, Scott Wolf, Courtney Ford, RJ Mitte and Jonathan Lipnicki.

This overachiever has also dabbled in producing and directing original plays and shorts as well as performing stand-up comedy. She has studied with various teachers including Lesly Kahn & Company, Margie Haber, and Jack Plotnick.

She currently lives is Silverlake with her husband and two rescue pit bulls.
